About Us

Eastbourne District Scout First Aid Team (EDSFAT) provides first aid and medical support to Scouting events, mainly in East and West Sussex and also across the UK.

Our goal is to provide the highest quality first aid and medical cover for Scouting events, allowing participants to enjoy the activities, knowing we are there to support them when needed. We cover a wide range of events from smaller local hikes and camps, to international jamborees providing appropriate support depending on the event.

EDSFAT has it’s own Explorer unit which allows young people with an interest in a career in medicine or pre-hospital care to gain experience and knowledge for their future. We also provide extra training and opportunities for them.

To maintain our high quality of service, we take part in regular training including Qualsafe registered courses and sessions provided by healthcare professionals in their topics of interest. We also provide training externally, running First Response courses, Qualsafe qualifications for leaders and Emergency Aid sessions for youth members.

EDSFAT has it’s own shop which sells first aid supplies and reflective badges at low prices, which are accessible for Scout groups. We can also offer advice on what first aid equipment you may need.
